In Memory

Jon Caffey

My friend and fellow athlete [for numerous State Championships in Track & Football] Jon Caffey passed away May 24th, 2022.
Jon was a quiet man and his obituary tells me that he chose his family based on his desire to remain quiet. There is no service scheduled. Here is the scripture his family wishes for us to see.  So Long Jon. It was a pleasure to be in your company.

Funny how we remember certain things from years gone by.   I remember Jon well, but I also remember Jon being the first person I saw that pole vaulted with something other than a bamboo pole.  Maybe it was just me, but I remember trying in Jr. High and using a bamboo pole.  No flex in that.  That was not going to be my sport.  Back to high jumping for a year or so.  Bill Naldin and I were high jump champions at Monte Vista. Straight on, sissors and Western roll.   Times have changed.  Jon was a fine person and a great athelete as well.  Prayers for his family as they walk this path of losing a loved one.
