Tommi Ash Ward

When I was named the editor of the Highlite, I felt so honored and I gave it all that I had. I won a press award that year for the interview of two of our English teachers. It could have been a perfect trip with our awards except that Jim Pinkston, our sports editor, got drunk and was sent home.

After graduating from North Georgia College, I married a lieutenant and began my career as an army wife and a teacher. I have taught 45 years in high school and college. My daughter is an assistant principal, and my son is a probation officer. I have two grandsons who are almost perfect. My husband recently retired and is enjoying golf and the north Georgia mountains. My children's families keep us very busy but enjoying life to the fullest.
