I remember Bill Luther as being one of  the sweetest, kindest boys in our class.  I am so sorry he was taken so young, for I am sure he would have made his mark on the world.

Always,  Jackie Markland Grossetete

Bill Luther and I were closest of friends though Highland and on to College.  He and I worked on the Sandia Tram in its early stages, and traveled to California to work on one of his father's real estate development projects in Escondido while we were in high school. There we learned where not to park when dynamiting large boulders.

We drove my ol' sorry hot rod out through Vegas to California on more than one occasion.

Bill was diagnosed with cancer in '72 and succumbed from the long term complications on October 31, 1983.

He is survived by his wife Diane Luther and two sons, Bentley and Jesse who are now married and have families of their own.

I met with Bill's wife, Diane and his two sons Ben and Jess, their wives and his grandchildren on Sunday the 21st of September

I presented the two HHS Gold Medallions and both families were very pleased to receive them.

We spent several hours reminiscing about our high school days and had a great time telling the sons about their dad's escapades

I didn't really know Bill in high school, but did in college at UNM. Also knew Diane at UNM. Both were great people. It's hard thinking of losing someone as young as Bill. Thanks to Neil for being such a loving and caring friend.

Bill and I were hiking buddies in the late 1960's and he and I were always pusshing the limits.  It was hard to accept when the cancer took his strength.  He, Diane and his boys lived by Cyndy and I across from Hyder park.  He was passoniate about collecting Native American baskets, pottery and paintings.  We keep in touch until his death.

Thank you Neil for your kind efforts!

Bob & Cyndy
