In Memory

William O'Neil

Harold Lavender let me know this morning that Bill passed away last Friday, the day before his 77th birthday.

If I find an obituary I will pass it along.

So Long Bill...it was a good run

Bill was certainly a standout in our class. Star athlete and much more. I remember watching Bill decimate the defense every time he carried the ball. I swear there was always a line of downed would be tackelers lieading up to where Bill was finally brought down. I'll miss one of my heroes. My sympathies to his family.

Bill brought us all a lot a great memories in football, basketball and track.  While a fierce competitor, I also remeber him as a gentle giant.  I never recall him in any scuffles after school.  He will be missed.  I understood at one point that he was coaching here in the Houston, Texas area, but I cannot find any obituary online here.  Praying for comfort for his family and friends.
