Judie and I were lifelong friends. We knew each other at Monte Vista, Jefferson and Highland. In particular I remember we had great fun working together on a class project with Carolyn Parrish senior year. Although at times quiet, in person Judie was always lively, funny and smart. [She was one of nine Senior National Merit Scholarship Finalists at Highland].
We saw each other intermittently in college when she returned for short visits from the University of Arizona in Tucson, but kind of lost contact after her marriage to her husband Jack Ning. We were, however, back in touch periodically whenever class of ’64 reunions rolled around and were finally able to talk in person at our 50th in 2014. Still we stayed in contact by email and our correspondence picked up after her move with Jack to Chandler AZ to be close to their grandsons and her daughter. We especially enjoyed trading memories from back in the day. Our last email exchange was in late May or early June, just a few days before I learned of her passing.

Judie was a gracious and kind person. I remember when she and her family spent a week in a Bomb Shelter. She was late leaving Highland due to her Latin teacher insisting she take a quiz thus delaying her family's start time. She told me that the time passed slowly in the shelter.

I remember Judy from HHS as being a kind individual who always had a quick smile and friendly disposition.
May God be with her and her family, loved ones and friends.

Like Bob, I remember Judy from first days at Monte Vista through Highland. She left a lasting impression of a kind, quiet and very smart classmate. Praying for her family at this time of loss and heartbreak.
