Machinist Mate Third Class John William Bostock Jr. was killed in Action Feb. 4, 1969 in Viet Nam. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart for his wounds. He was an American Hero and is buried in the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
I wasn't a close friend of John, but rather a casual aquaintence . We did share some classes together, specifically Industrial arts or shop with Mr. Miller. I write this comment because there is an unnamed brotherhood that stood at our 50th and was graciously recognized for their service in Vietnam. John was not there to stand. By his rank I would suspect he was Navy. Could have been a Sea-Bee or possibly a PBR driver or maybe even a Navy Seal. What is important to those that stood that night is that when John was called to serve his country, John did stand and gave his all. I know that even after 45 years, those that stood at the reunion that night , have a bond with John and men and women like John that gave their all. That bond reflects APPRECIATION, RESPECT, HONOR, and a REVERANCE that will endure forever.
Well said Bill. Our friends that served in the Forgotten War are deserving of every respect as those who served this country in any war to which they were called and sent to serve. Thanks to ALL our veterans for their service and a special thanks and rememberance to those who gave all.

Thank you Bill for your kind remarks. VN vets were not treated kindly when they returned and they are so deserving of our love, praise and support.
