Relayed to us August 24, 2014 by George Ison
Tom graduated from WSU and entered the Navy. I met up with Tom while we were both serving in our second tours in Viet Nam while with the Naval Advisory Group in Saigon. Upon leaving the Navy he entered Gonzaga University Law School where he also met his wife Cheryl who was also studying law. Tom had a most noteworthy and distinguished law career in Spokane. He also remained active with the Navy Reservists and retired as a USNR Captain. Tom was an avid outdoorsman and physically fit. However, while on a 400 mile bike tour in Canada he suffered an immediate and fatal heart attack. He was one of the brightest and most personable individuals that I ever met.
Survived By: Wife- Cheryl and three grown children- two daughters and a son

Thank you, George, for posting this tribute to Thomas Kingen. I wish I had known him better. Clearly, he was truly an outstanding man of distinction. He will be remembered at our reunion.

I lived across the street from Tom Kingen in on what was then Sandia Base. We did lots of kid stuff together. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing.
