I'm very sorry to hear of Harold's death. What a well-writen obituary. He lived a rich and productive life. I particularly like this line: "He believed that the collective wisdom of the people would always prevail."  We'll miss you, Harold.

Harold and I were lifelong friends.  We first met in eighth grade at Jefferson shortly after his family moved from Oklahoma. [Harold was always fond of telling the story how he and Cissy King arrived on the same day!]  Fortunately I was able to speak with him briefly by phone a couple times in the weeks and days before his passing.   Over the years we remained in touch, occasionally seeing each other in person, most recently when Harold and his wife Susan stopped by for a brief visit to the Hudson River Valley.  He was, from day one, always clear about who he was and, as a principled Conservative, how he saw the world.  More than anything I’ll miss our lively conversations and the warm in-person visits with Harold and Susan when I visited Albuquerque.

Had many an interesting conversation with Harold in political views!  He will be missed!

I just saw this notice about Harold.  He was a friend from 8th grade at Jefferson through years at Highland.  So sorry to hear about his passing.  Condolences to his family.
